Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has called on fellow Nigerians to prioritise national development over the ongoing certificate controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu. Appearing on Channels Television program, Tuggar emphasised President Tinubu’s extensive political career, including his tenure as a two-term governor, suggesting that his academic records should no longer be a cause for concern among the public.

Tuggar stressed the need to avoid distractions, citing similar challenges faced by President Buhari in the past, where questions were raised about his education. He highlighted the importance of addressing substantial developmental issues rather than getting sidetracked by inconsequential matters. Tuggar urged Nigerians to focus on critical issues such as the country’s rapid population growth and economic challenges, emphasizing that these challenges require the nation’s collective attention for meaningful progress.

The minister emphasised that foreign leaders and international organisations engaged with Nigeria are primarily interested in discussing substantial matters rather than minor controversies. He urged the citizens to unite in addressing pressing developmental concerns, indicating that these challenges require immediate and concerted efforts from all sectors of the society.
