Nevada State Senator honours Ghana’s Edmond Sarpong for excellent leadership

In a celebration of outstanding leadership, Edmond Sarpong, President of the Ghana Association of Las Vegas, has received multiple honours from prominent figures and organisations in Nevada. Senator Jacky Rosen, Congresswoman Susie Lee, the City of Las Vegas Council, and AfrikFest Las Vegas have recognised Sarpong’s exceptional contributions to the community.
Described as a driving force in the local community, Sarpong was lauded for his dedication to elevating and sharing Ghanaian culture in the diaspora. A merit award plaque presented to him expressed appreciation for his mission to promote Ghanaian heritage abroad.
In his heartfelt address, Sarpong expressed gratitude to all those who have supported his initiatives. He emphasized the importance of unity, common heritage, and purpose in achieving their goals. Sarpong highlighted the community’s overwhelming support for various events organized by the association, including the successful Sarkodie event, which showcased the vibrant African spirit.
Sarpong also acknowledged the pivotal roles played by his fellow leaders in the Ghana Association of Las Vegas, as well as partners like the Africa Chamber of Commerce Las Vegas and AfrikFest Awards, in the honors received.
Since assuming office as President of the Ghana Association of Las Vegas in July 2023, Sarpong has led a vibrant community of 3,000 African professionals. Under his leadership, the association aims to celebrate Ghanaian heritage while making positive contributions to the local Nevada community.
Sarpong’s recognition serves as a testament to the impactful work being done within the Ghanaian and larger African community in Las Vegas, fostering unity, cultural appreciation, and community engagement.
