Dr. Bawumia wins with over 70% of votes cast.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana (on the left) and presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party, has beaten back Alan, Kennedy, and co. in his attempt to lead the governing party, the NPP, into the general elections of 2024.

According to preliminary figures, Dr. Bawumia received more than 70% of the legitimate votes cast.

Many party members were not surprised by this because they trusted Dr. Bawumia and respected his commitment to the party throughout the years.

The vice president has already assured party delegates that he will defeat National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate and former president John Dramani Mahama in the next general elections.

He claims that only he has the ability to break the 8 as the term progresses.

Dr. Bawumia insisted that the NPP had no alternative but to “break the eight” during his tour of the nation.

They are aware that we will defeat the eight and that John Mahama cannot defeat me.

On the campaign road in the Greater Accra Region’s Tema West constituency, Dr. Bawumia claimed, “They know we will break the 8, they know John Mahama cannot compete with me in the North, and they know I will beat him in the North. This is why they don’t want me to be the flagbearer.”
