Malawi was plunged into mourning as news emerged of the tragic crash of a military plane carrying Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima and nine others, including former first lady Shanil Dzimbiri. President Lazarus Chakwera confirmed the devastating news, expressing profound sorrow over the loss.

The aircraft, destined for Mzuzu airport, encountered adverse weather conditions, forcing it to abort its landing and return to Lilongwe. Despite the experienced crew and the aircraft’s impeccable record, it tragically plummeted, claiming the lives of all on board.
