Ogunlesi, a trailblazing Nigerian businessman, lawyer, and investor, is the Founding Partner, Chairman, and CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a leading global infrastructure investment firm. He also serves as a Senior Managing Director at BlackRock, the world’s largest asset management company.

Adebayo Ogunlesi is a globally respected business leader whose career spans investment banking, corporate law, and academia. His journey began with academic excellence—earning a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Oxford University, followed by a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Before founding Global Infrastructure Partners in 2006, he spent 23 years at Credit Suisse, where he held several senior positions, including:

  • Executive Vice Chairman & Chief Client Officer of the Investment Banking Division
  • Head of Global Investment Banking (2002-2004) and Member of the Executive Board & Management Committee

Ogunlesi also boasts an impressive legal background. He was an attorney at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and later clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, becoming one of the few Africans to hold such a prestigious legal role in the United States. His academic contributions include lecturing at Harvard and Yale Law Schools and the Yale School of Management, where he taught courses on transnational investment projects.
