Ghana Welcomes Visitors with Non-Pre Approval Visa on Arrival for Festive Season

It’s great news! Ghana is set to introduce a Non-Pre Approval Visa on Arrival for visitors from December 1, 2023, to January 15, 2024. This initiative, launched under the “December in GH” campaign as part of the 10-year “Beyond the Return” initiative, aims to simplify and encourage increased arrivals during the festive season.

According to a press release by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), the introduction of the visa on arrival program is strategically designed to enhance and encourage a surge in arrivals to Ghana during the festive season. By simplifying the visa process, the government aims to entice more travellers to explore Ghana’s distinctive cultural heritage, vibrant events, and festive celebrations.

Aligned with the broader objectives of the “Beyond the Return” initiative, this waiver plays a pivotal role in fortifying Ghana’s stature as the preferred destination for tourists and investors, especially those from the diaspora. It seeks to foster stronger connections between Ghana and its global community, fostering opportunities for cultural exchange and economic advancement.

In a directive to airlines, the Ministry of Transport, through a letter signed by Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, urged swift system updates to accommodate this new arrangement.

CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman, extends a warm welcome to travellers, encouraging them to seize this exceptional opportunity and become a part of the December in GH program.
