Bouchra Karboubi: Pioneering Moroccan Referee Breaking Barriers

At the age of 14, Bouchra Karboubi faced resistance from her family when she pursued her passion for football. Growing up in the conservative city of Taza in northeastern Morocco, where it was considered unusual for a girl to engage in sports, Bouchra’s brothers tore up her linesman’s flag in an attempt to prevent her from pursuing her dreams.
