The games encompass a diverse array of sports, totalling 23, with some intriguing additions like squash and cricket, set to debut in this continental event. Alongside these, arm wrestling, rugby union, and more are also primed to make their inaugural appearances, underscoring the Games’ commitment to evolving and incorporating new disciplines.

Showcasing Diversity & Inclusivity
These Games are more than just a sporting event; they’re a platform for cultural exchange and unity. Notably, demonstration sports such as esports, mixed martial arts, and others, will add an extra dimension, celebrating varied talents and interests. Additionally, the 13th African Games will coincide with the 2023 African Para Games, emphasising inclusivity and support for para-athletes, further emphasising the commitment to diverse sporting expressions.
